A technique of painting on damp plaster so that when it dries and reacts with the air a chemical reaction fixes the pigment into the plaster. Pope julius ii (hires michelangelo to sculpt his tomb) Bramante (architect of st. peters basilica) convinces the pope to stop construction of his tomb and make michelangelo paint the sistine chapel. Michelangelo spends 4 years painting the sistine chapel.
