How often, asleep at night, am i convinced of such familiar events that i am here in my dressing-gown, sitting by the fire when in fact i am lying undressed in bed. All this would not happen with such distinctness to someone asleep. As if i did not remember other occasions when i have been tricked by exactly similar thoughts while asleep. Conc2: i do not truly know that i am in the classroom, or even whether there are classrooms: the dreaming skeptical argument calls some things into doubt, but it doesn"t call everything into doubt: For whether i am awake or asleep, two and three added together are give, and a square has no more than five sides. Conc2: i do not truly know that i am in the classroom, or even whether there are classrooms. I don"t truly know that 2+2=4, or any other alleged mathematical truth.
