Document Summary

Stereotypes of women are actually more positive then men- however the positive traits associated with women are less valued in important domains such as the business world than the positive traits associated with men. Women are treated in objective ways- they are treated more as objects and less as fully functioning human beings sexual object. This affects a women"s mental and physical health, their academic performance, and how they believe in social interactions. People are not generally biased by gender in the evaluation of performance. Sex discrimination during the early school years may pave their way for diverging career paths in childhood. Odds are good that men will be payed more than women- glass ceiling- makes it harder for women to rise above men. When women act like men they are seen as more competent in an interview but it also hurts them cause then they are also seen as less socially skilled and less attractive which can hurt them.
