Assessment is the process of identifying what a client needs: is a starting point, but you slso might do it ongoing throughout therapy. But throughout intervention you need to continually assess. Do they ever happen at the same time? (see above) Assessment involves using different types of activities to gather the information you need! High quality assessment is part of evidence-based practice (ebp) The goal of ebp is the integration of: (a) clinical expertise/expert opinion, (b) external scientific evidence, and, (c) client/patient/caregiver perspectives to provide high-quality services reflecting the interests, values, needs, and choices of the individuals we serve. --asha, b. Serves as screening to determine two things: the child"s language skilles appear to be developing in a typical fashion and no services/further assessment is needed at this time, if child should go on for more extensive evaluation. Should answer these questions with a yes or no . Does not generate a lot of information.
