No longer able to separate multiples, must be adopted by the same family. Mz twins raised together and dz (dizygotic) twins raised together: mz = 100% of dna shared, dz = 50% of dna shared (no different than any normal sibling) Controls for shared environment effects: heritability = (mz same dz same) x2. Reaction range: genes determine reaction to environment genes limit how any particular trait might be expressed. Ge interaction: genes set the range limits of expression, environment determines where within that limit we end up. Environment affects children differently depending on temperament: ex: height. Poor nutrition = 5"2 (bottom of genetic range) Genes affect the environments we"re exposed to. Things that appear to be solely due to environment aren"t: genetic influence also plays a part. Young children: not choosing their environments.
