Statistics are a collection of procedures and principles for gathering data and analyzing information to help people make decisions when faced with uncertainty. Sample data- collection from a subject of a larger population (used to inference larger pop) Population data- are collected when all individuals in a population are measure (all information) Statistic- a summary measure of sample data. Ordinal variables - categorical variables that have logical order ex. highest degree earned/shirt size. Quantitative variable - raw data that consists of numerable values taken on each individual"s.
