Miscarriage: common, but they happen mostly during the first trimester, natural termination of pregnancy. Babies have different reflexes that are natural, but they only last about 6 months. Head-down: babies get control of their head first. Cognitive development: the emergence of the ability to think and understand (jean piaget) Assimilation: the process by which people translate incoming information into a form they can understand. Accommodation: the process by which people adapt current knowledge structures in response to new experiences. What new information we gain, we either assimilate it, or we accommodate it (jean piaget, believed this is a big step in development)
