He says it justifies overriding individual rights for the sake of maximizing the aggregate good. He says rational individuals would never agree to this kind of society. Equal liberty takes priority for any sort of wealth. You cannot trade your liberty for wealth i. e. you cannot take a demeaning job for the purpose of making money. Any legitimate inequality must be to the advantage of the worse off. Everyone should be born at a natural baseline. People should not have to be born at an equal starting position.
