The spinal cord starts at the medulla oblongata and it ends in between the l2 and l1 at the conus medullaris. The spinal cord is kind of like soft cheese so if you break it, it is hard to put it together. It has 31 pairs of nerves coming out of it and these nerves go to the various regions of the body. Sensory info is going up and motor info is going down. Nerves are how the spinal cord communicates with the rest of the body. The names of the nerves are based off where they are located. The plexuses mean that the nerve has branches which join branches of other nerves.
