There is no islamic text that endorses it: islam guides followers to oppress women. Women face cultural tradition not islamic law: women are forced to wear a headscarf by men. Practice comes from a traditional interpretation: muslims god is allah. Allah simply means god, similar to christianity. English, french, and spanish colonizers became white.
