This system seems to have been perfected due to the fact that, it can reduce the number of those who exercise [power], while increasing the number of those on whom it is exercised (293). This source of power is being hung over their head, like a treat over a dog, as if always acting in a manner that is encouraged with the hope that they will somehow be rewarded for their actions. Likewise, this could be easily equated to the life of an athlete. In a society where the standard of education is so high and encouraged, i find this to be quite strange. Unfortunately for many, this disservice doesn"t even cross their mind because the society around them just brainwashes them and shapes them to follow the path the rest of those around them do and don"t question their actions.
