According to the 2016 study, college students with binge eating disorder and students with obesity are at a higher risk of facing classroom productivity and daily activity impairments and facing social activity impairments. School psychologists and teachers are allowed by law to include information relative to eating disorders into the school curriculum. Eating disorders are not a specific special education exceptionality. Counseling may be provided by the school psychologist to a student with an eating disorder. A school psychologist cannot diagnose an eating disorder. Level 1 grief support does not include therapy. School psychologists are qualified to work with a student who is grieving over the loss of a parent. Any of the three levels of support for a grieving student are determined by the reaction of the student to the loss. Inside of the prison, school psychologists do not have a high amount of discretion due to the importance of their role in assisting inmates.
