Controlled information: information over which you have total control as to editorial content, style, placement, and timing. News releases: most widely used of all public relations formats, both print and broadcast are used most often to disseminate information for publicity purposes, sent to every possible medium. Backgrounders basic information prices providing background information as an aid to reporters ect. Language fallacies: techniques are nearly always used intentionally. Ghost writing: refers to writing something for someone else that will be represented as that person s own point of view. Pr does this with speeches, letters to the editor, annual report letters from the president, ect. Non-commercial speech: allows a corporation to state publicly its position on controversial issues. Identification: people relate to things they can identify wit, capture some emotion to make them feel invested in.
