Media relations: we are always honest (journalist will blacklist you if you lie and it will be hard to regain their trust) Be very careful with off the record (don"t set yourself up), Always call/email the reporter back as fast as you can, that person is trying to do their job, even if you don"t have a comment make sure you call and say that. Motivated looking for the big story, they usually want to do good things, think about what motivates them/you. Most of the time the pr person isn"t the one that gets quoted. If someone calls you with a tuff question, you can tell them you"ll look into it and get back to them just make sure you get back to them about it. Remember: whatever you send out to be published has to be news. Learn to stand out in a huge market they are getting hundreds press releases a day.
