Document Summary

Consider the term epiphany, which is a moment of clarity and understanding. Thoreau"s "solitude" has as a messages that solitude can be more a state of mind than a physical reality. People living in a society surround by others could be more mentally lonely than people physically along. To thoreau being away from other humans is a perfect opportunity to explore his mind and spirituality with out the society ruling his steps. Thoreau is that we can find company in our own minds, in nature and even in the silent around. This is an advantage that thoreau found in being in the woods with no neighbors near him, he could spend more time with himself. I think thoreau found in the woods a moment of clarity and understanding about himself; he could think more clearly about who he was. At the woods he lived a moment of personal realization; he could have a better understanding of life in general.
