Document Summary
A is a greater island than b if a has more of the features which make islands as islands great . A is a greater being than b if a is more ontologically independent than b- i. e has a greater. Shirt has a greater being than the wrinkles in shirt. The lost island is an island than which no greater island can be thought: Suppose we take greatness in the coconut sense: A formally real island can have less island-wise greatness but still have more being-wise greatness. The lost island, objectively can be a greater island, but still be less great as a being than a formally real island. Ex: maui is less coconut-wise great, but more being-wise great than the lost island. One can think of an island greater (being-wise) than the island than which no greater (coconut- wise) can be thought. I. e the lost island is the island than which nothing (no thing) greater (being-wise) can be thought.
