Some differences in men and women are due to social situation in which the behavior occurs. What appears to be gender difference may change or disappear under different circumstances. Question the status quo nature of these roles. Feminist perspectives point out how the power differential between men and women in our society colours the kinds of questions researchers pursue. What causes gender differences may not be as simple as biology or social forces, instead some propose biopsychosocial model. Humans have evolved certain characteristics to solve adaptive problems, how to adapt to and survive under various environmental conditions. Men and women face different adaptive problems. Women less in favour of casual sex and value status and ambition in potential male due to seeking a mate for pregnancy. Women"s jealousy is more triggered by emotional infidelity whereas men"s jealousy is triggered more by sexual infidelity. Gender differences in characteristics depend on the context in which they occur and how they"re measured.
