Mood disorders: disorders in which there are disabling disturbances in emotion. Often associated with other psychological problems (panic attacks, substance abuse, personality disorders, sexual dysfunction) The presence of these can increase severity and results in poorer prognosis. An emotional state marked by great sadness and feelings of worthlessness and guilt. Loss of interest and pleasure in usual activities. Sleep/appetite may be affected in either direction.
