Had an idea of less developed people / savages, etc. Being aware of this history is the first step. Question, if not reject, the god"s eye view. Someone people don"t put psychoanalysis in a class on social theory. Yes, this is related to the study of psychic / mental processes. Is also related to the clinical practice of psychoanalyses. In immense part of freud is his idea of unconscious thought / the pre-conscious. A lot of dr. werth"s criticisms of the rational actor theory lie here in this idea of psychoanalyses. Phillip"s was discussing how we cannot have love or hatred without the opposite sentiment. The mind, which appears chaotic and beyond causation, is actually ruled by inexorable laws (a conversation between internal processes along with external laws) Dynamic set of processes (not neural mapping of brain) Freud says we are guided by internal desires (what he also calls libidinal desires)
