Splintered development- refers to the circumstances in which development is uneven across domains: piaget"s theory of cog(cid:374)itive develop(cid:373)e(cid:374)t. Schemas- actions or mental representations that organize knowledge. Assimilation- occurs when children incorporate new information into their existing schemas.
