By 900 bce they rose again and conquered babylonia. Very militant culture, army of 1000 soldiers. Used military to conquer and spill terror. First army to use iron weapons and maybe even steal. King used defeated for slave labor, large building projects. Law was based on code of hamarabe but more brutal. Religion reflected military, convinced god wanted expansion of worshipers. Believed he should be the most worshiped. Staff grew so large that they had to keep conquering in order to compensate. Other militaries got better but neo assyrians got more brutal. Seen as the height of the persian empire.
