Proximity- how close is a case to the area. Timeliness- how recently something happened they don"t want old news. Novelty & deviance- how odd is the story. Prominent/powerful people vs. human interest-if you"re important you get news stories if not you don"t matter. Ethnocentrism- does it concern us or them. Responsible capitalism - regardless of what people do to make money there is still in interest in being responsible.
