You can get an arrest warrant for someone even if you don"t know their name, you have to know the actual person (people use fake names) Search warrants deal with privacy issues of property. Rules for getting a warrant: 4th amendment. In order to get a search warrant: probable cause, oath, particularity requirement. Time frame for searching, if you can justify it then it"s okay. When you get search warrant you can do a knock and announce, or a no knock warrant. Standing: must have in order to challenge something. Have to leave inventory list stating everything police took. Return of service, go back to issuing judge and say when the warrant was executed, who was present, and what they took. Warrants protect police by stating that judge agreed. If police inds legal evidence, they can spinof that. Times police can search with a warrant exception or search not covered under 4th amendment.
