Primary task of prison management is custody and security, control comes from that is managed through prisionization. The reason why a small population can manage a larger much more violate group successfully. Prisons actually have very few incidents, people don"t get hurt if they follow the formal and informal rules, idea of respect. You need to have treatment in prisons, it is a must, you need it for two reasons. Want for that one person who wants to make a change, if they don"t change there will be more victims. If people are in treatment, the point is, they are not acting out or causing trouble regardless of the reason they are doing it and everyone else is therefore safer. Visiting (crucial, some have glass walls and talk through telephones, a lot goes on in visit halls) Classification (important, attracts the convicts, manages the convicts time, people without parole can slip through in parole board hearings with sloppy records)
