Systems: non squall clusters, streamlines, squall lines and tropical waves. Different names according to region: typhoon, cyclone or tropical cyclone. Sinking air leads to cloud free skies. Offical hurricane season begins on june 1 and ends on nov 30. Hurriances weaken rapidly when they travel over colder water or land and lose their heat. Visible, infrared and enhanced the infrared satellite images. Hurricanes that form over the tropical north atlantic move westward or northwestward on a collision course with central or noth america. Most hurricanes swimg away from land and move northward parallel to the us coastline. Many hurricanes form off the coast of merico over the north pacific. Retirement: if a storm causes great damage and or many casulaties, Devastating winds, storm surge and flooding its name is retired.
