Andrew vogel and greg bufford introduction to music. Jazz: ragtime and stride/ new orleans jazz and big band. Scott joplin- maple leaf rag: the music sounds a little happy but more suspenseful. I think these type of music were used for the old movies that did not have any lines; the black and white movies. I like the piano part of this musical piece. However, i think it is very repetitive and very little or no temp change throughout the entire piece. James p. johnson- carolina shout (1921 recording): this music just sounds ancient in general. I think it is a weird bubbly music. The pianist plays the same but a fast tempo for the entire piece. Fats waller- handful of keys: unlike the other two musical pieces, this one has a different tempo. It sounds more interesting than the other two too. It is consists of piano and bass (i think).
