Then around the 15th and 16th century places such as india and indonesia incurred the muslim religion. Pre wwii, indonesia was colonized by the dutch. Then they became a part of india. Because it"s an archipelago it has been able to maintain their many different cultures. It is the 4th most populated country on earth after china, india, and the usa. The traditional art music of this area is called gamelan . This is named after the group of instruments that are used to make that type of music. It is built up of mostly percussive instruments. Groups tend to have instruments made of bronze.
