In wic, breastfeeding is defined as: the human practice of feeding a mother"s human milk to her infant on the average of at least once per day : definition is used for determining participation in the program. The food package a mom receives and length of time depend on amount of formula she receives from. Partially (mostly) breastfeeding food package: for mothers and babies who are mostly breastfed but also receive some formula from. Breastfeed at least 8-12 times or more every 24 hours. Babies typically have periods of rapid growth where they want to breastfeed more frequently: 2 weeks, 6 weks, 3 months, 6 months. Supplementing is not necessary it will interfere with milk production. Babies can continue to breastfed with teething without causing pain to mom. As teeth emerge, the bab will learn how to breastfeed without biting.
