Speed of jupiter"s rotation faster than speed of earth"s. Layers similar to jupiter"s, but more subdued. Corresponds to clouds of different substances forming. Methane gas of neptune and uranus absorbs red light but transmits blue light. Blue light reflects off methane clouds, making those planes look blue. Jupiter"s strong magnetic field gives it an enormous magnetosphere. Some of the moons of jupiter are immersed in radiating particles trapped by the magnetosphere. Most of the radiation released is ultraviolet radiation. All jovian planets have magnetospheres, but jupiter"s is largest. Jupiter has metallic hydrogen inside (not a metal, but a conductor), which circulates and makes a magnetic field. What kinds of moons orbit the jovian planets. Circular orbits in same direction as planet rotation (except triton) These are far more numerous than the medium and large moons. They do not have enough gravity to be spherical: most are potato-shaped.
