The freezing up response when presented with dangerous stimulus comes from ventral. Pag, is actually predatory, like crouching down preparing to go in for the kill. Cats kill rats and stuff not because they"re hungry, but because they enjoy the kill. V. important for maternal behavior, ex: nursing and maternal aggression. Lesion of dorsal pag makes them turn into lazy mother. ~emotional learning most basic form is a conditioned emotional response. ~a neural stimulus is paired with an emotion-producing stimulus. Happens when a neural stimulus is regularly followed by a stimulus that evokes a response.
