Limitations self report data was supposed to correct. No ucr data on beliefs, personality, potential race and class bias in the. 13-17 year olds have disproportionately high rates of crime. They make up 10% of us population. But make up 27% of ucr index crime. Crime peaks at ages 17 and 18 then makes a decline. Usually surveys don"t ask about serious crimes. Ucr shows crimes are higher among low income neighborhoods. Srd shows no difference in crimes rates between class. When trivial items are taken out, the 2 agree on higher crime rates. Does the ucr and srd agree on race and crime. Despite blacks making 13% of us population, they have a disproportionate high crime rate according to the ucr. Shows no difference in self reported crimes. With trivial items removed, small race gaps are observed, with blacks slightly higher on serious crimes only.
