Self, identity, and personality, how would you define personality, watch two videos: theories of personality from weird guy on youtube, sigmund freud thinks personalities are based on egos and focuses a lot of his studies on sexual impulses. He talks about who or what is the self. He talks about traits and social cognitive perspectives. Trait theory looks at stabile laughing and behavioral patterns. Sometimes you need to look in the present, not the past to the past. These traits are hypothesized to predict behavior and attitude. Reciprocal determinism- some people like certain places that contributes to personality. We are the creators and the products of what we surround ourselves with. Thematic appreciation test- erotic and ambiguous pictures to predict what you think of the picture to reveal concerns or motivations in life. Minnesota inventory based personality test is widely used to identify emotional disorders. Social cognitive test measures who you act in situations and environment to predict personality.
