ENS 303 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Aponeurosis, Myocyte, Ground Substance
Document Summary
Pull/chin up is an upper extremity closed kinetic chain. Hamstring curl is a lower extremity open kinetic chain. Lunging is an example of a closed kinetic chain exercise. A row" is an example of an open kinetic chain movement. *muscles are not connective tissue but cartilage, fascia, tendons, and bones are! Nerve tissue: generation & conduction of electrical signals. Epithelial tissue: skin & lining of internal cavities. Bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, fasciae, bursae, joint capsules, periosteum, blood + lymph, adipose tissue, mucus, aponeuroses **define each. All are intertwined (connecting or separating others) Must be able to move while maintaining structural integrity. Body shape would remain the same if your shell was removed. Most ct has a rich blood supply and penetrated by nerves. Tendons, ligaments, aponeuroses have limited blood supply. Cartilage has essentially no blood supply (no blood or nerves) Amount of ecm determines the type of connective tissue.
