He was a classic scholar and wanted to teach at the university but couldn"t because he was too dangerous (probably an atheist) Hume is a common sense type of guy. Empiricist: someone who believes that your sense and feelings are the best judge of reality. Hume thinks when were gonna talk about science, we are going to talk about philosophy, when were going to talk about ethics we are going to use empiricism.
