How to get from initial state to the goal state. Think about how you"re going to go through with solving the problem. Form a representation > construct a plan > execute plan > checking/evaluation > reformulate. Re-doing and re-formulating it depends on the situation. Problem space - whole range of possible states and operators, only some of which will lead to the goal state. Retrieve a representation of a problem from memory that is similar to the problem you currently face. Solve the new problem using the solution to the old problem.
