How is bullying related to delinquency: often includes actual criminal offenses, can also influence victims to become delinquents. Long term consequences: may go on to intimidate spouses, co-workers, children, etc. Two techniques have been emphasized: school bonding, connection students have to school. After school programs, clubs, teams: target hardening: making it more difficult for students to access school after hours. Stop students from vandalizing school grounds and interior. Gangs are a problem not only in big cities, but also smaller communities: not just a big city problem!!! Challenge for two reasons: finding motivation for joining, likelihood that they will continue. How many juveniles in gangs: law enforcement severely undercounts number (around 300,000) Gang delinquency in group behavior: commit more delinquency together than apart.
