Information literacy is about identifying when and why an individual needs information, how to evaluate it further, and how to utilize and communicate it in an ethical way. It is an ability to sustain and evaluate learning ability by using technology (link). Information literacy is becoming vital in every aspect of life including businesses, education, and personal life. Being information literate is a necessity and has various advantages. However, the lack of information literacy causes various concerns as businesses, either big or small, are integrating information literacy as a routine practice. These practices include payrolls, e-mails for communication, managing workflows (p. 52). Similarly, it also helps in identifying solutions and providing deliverables. However, lack of understanding and literacy regarding the handling of information literacy could cause friction in accomplishing business objectives (p. 53). Additionally, it technicians in a firm are important, although they are not at the top position.
