Salivary Glands - secrete saliva, keep mouth moist and clean the surface of the teeth. 3 pairs of

Mumps in Parotid Glands - mumps virus, common, occur dominantly in children, and
contagious. Swollen cheeks, enlargement of these glands, gets a fever. If an adult male with
mumps and don’t have it as a child, but this enter the testicles, then make man sterile, meaning
can’t have kids. Does not affect female.
Tumors in Salivary Glands - Benign tumors, need removal but not dangerous. Not a common or
frequent
Stones in Salivary Ducts - form a little stones, salivary ducts may be filled with salivary stones
and that = no secretion. Cheeks very swollen, tweezer to pop the stones. Cheeks no longer
swollen because there is no more pressure
Pancreas - behind the stomach, right side is the head of the pancreas, body of the pancreas,
upper left portion is the tail of the pancreas touches the spleen (looks like an ear) TEST
Duodenum > Head of pancreas > body of pancreas > tail of pancreas
C > fist into the C (duodenum) > arm > elbow
Seat Belt injuries - in an accident, the seat belt fasten around a person’s stomach. A red sash,
check if pancreas is crush, and checked if pancreas have enzymes and digest things
Pancreatitis - titis (inflammation of the the pancreas) cause by viruses or bacteria. Very painful
in the upper abdomen. Fever or sick. Abdominal pain with fever. Cancer may occur in the
pancreas. Very severe abdominal pain. (often diagnosis very late and ignore it. Then it went
under metastasis and carried to your liver, then spread inferior vena cava, lungs > to the heart
left side, aorta spread to your whole body)

Liver - interior is dome shape to the diaphragm, hold by a band of connective tissue. Divide into
2 lobes. Right lobe, upper left lobe. Ligament in the middle. The ropey ligament = round
ligament which represent umbilical vein. Blood brought to the child. Clot and form scar tissue
when child no longer need blood from here?
