Didn"t become empress right after because the court was in mourning still. She was appointed imperial noble consort xian for the time being. Had powers in the harem/acted as an empress. In hangzhou, she cut her hair which is a taboo/curse to the emperor and empress dowager. Did that as a means to cut ties with the emperor. She was sent back to the palace and ordered to stay in her palace. Still received the food/rations according to an empress position. Died on the 31st year of qianlong.
