Very much like you see on tv. Where you get a trial pretty much: intermediate appellate courts. Appeal: an appeal is not a new trial. Appeal is si(cid:373)ply (cid:449)here you say the judge (cid:373)ade a (cid:373)istake a(cid:374)d that"s (cid:449)hy i lost, a(cid:374)d i want that mistake to be fixed. Important to get all the facts out (cid:862)the jury has spoke(cid:374)(cid:863) An appellate court cannot replace what jury says and cannot reverse it. O(cid:374)(cid:272)e the jury has spoke(cid:374), i(cid:374) appellate (cid:272)ourt you (cid:272)a(cid:374)"t (cid:272)ha(cid:374)ge that. If you lose at intermediate appellate court, you go to court of last resort: courts of last resort. You go to trial, i(cid:374)ter(cid:373)ediate appellate (cid:272)ourts a(cid:374)d the(cid:374) to last resorts (if you"re still losing) If it finds that the earlier judges were wrong, then they change that. Because it demonstrates that you get another chance. Once you lose in courts of last resort, you do not have an opportunity again.
