Document Summary
The american dream for most is to be able to have the freedom to work toward and achieve their goals, and to be able to perform this with the equality and fairness as all those surrounding them. It is to be able to push apart what ethnicity or race a certain individual is, and to begin at one starting point, with similar destinations. However, each journey shall be different accommodating what one desires. For some, this american dream is easily achieved, but for others, there are many more boundaries and obstacles, making the dream into a dark dream. It is dream with a faint light at the end, unable to decipher whether they will be able to break through the discrimination and racism, which is holding them back from attaining this dream. One particular group of individuals who struggle with reaching the american dream is african americans.
