What i learned from the stanton chapter about the study of the historical. Jesus is that the gospels are being accessed to really saw what they mean. I learned how to decipher the gospels into three levels which are the level of the teaching of the evangelists, the level of the early church which transmitted the traditions and the level of the life of jesus himself. The evangelists reaction is that they accept that. Jesus"s teachings are reconstructed and this chapter really breaks down each of the gospels of jesus. Something i found interesting in the study of the historical jesus was whether eyewitnesses had a role in any of the gospels, due to the vivid descriptions that are written in them. I also learned about the debate and origin of the gospel traditions and the question of where they were originated.
