Assignment #3: describe the composition of the object"s panel (image 2). Write one sentence each describing the proportion of the figures, color, foreground/background, line, shape, and texture. (6 sentences total) The front panel of the soundbox consists of 4 different panels, each detailed with two different colors: black and light tan. The contrast of the light tan against the dark background adds a sense of dynamism to the figures. The panels also feature curvy compositional lines that give the characters a sense of existence and energy. Some of the figures twist to fit their bodies within the fixed space. This is especially shown by the two animalistic figures in the top panel on the soundbox. These animals are symmetrically placed on each side of the central human figure, leading to the conclusion that this figure is probably the most powerful in the piece.
