Isolated system the degree of disorder can only increase. If you have an isolated system and you leave it by itself everything will degrade and fall apart. In cells, however, as long as the cells are alive the extent of the order or degree of the order always increases. It usually only decreases a little but, overall it increases. If you increase the order inside yourself you have a warmer environment outside of the cell, you release heat. We can always release heat because the living systems are not isolated systems and or connected to the environment. We have to get energy replenish because we use it all the time. The vast majority of the energy for planet comes from the sun. It is solar energy in the form of photons and this is the constant supply of energy that we all use.

c. Living things, by harnessing energy to create order (withinand around themselves) actually create a paradox in questionssurrounding the first and second laws of thermodynamics andseemingly violate many previously held assumptions.
