Development is multidirectional: adulthood: height stays the same, crystalized intelligence increases. Developemnt requires multidisciplinary approach study (not just psychology) A set of concepts or propositions intended to describe and explain phenomenon. Can be used to make predictions: hypothesis. Falsifiable: can be proved wrong: if vague, can"t be tested or proved wrong. Supported by data: data confirms and supports theory naturalistic observation. Put people in a controlled situation, observe how they act.
