Too much overlap and comorbidity (having two conditions simultaneously) Each patient gets a quantifiable score (0-100) on various dimensions. Provides rich, detailed information about severity of different symptoms. Still need to choose a cut off number for a disorder. Individuals who seek treatment of psychopathology are known as patients or clients. Psychopathology - the scientific study of psychological disorders. Presenting problem - the issue the client or patient comes in with. Symptoms - subjective experience of an individual. Diagnosis - identification of the presence of a disorder based on signs & symptoms.
