Fossil fuels are plentiful in the u. s but they can be dangerous. Can have oil spills, exhaust, smog, and pollution. Releases energy of atomic nuclei from uranium. Does not contribute to co2 emissions but it could lead to the release of radioactive material. People are concerned about the world and the effects of energy sources on it. Challenge: can only create power for a single building. Hot water under the surface near volcanoes and geysers. Challenge: only works where there is geothermal activity. Must live close to a geyser to harness that energy. Technology globally connects more people via social media. Access to more information on the internet. Increasing anonymity leads to negative behaviors like bullying. Privacy concerns about information gathered online like credit cards and photos.
