Iq was not the only diference between best/worst students. What is needed is a better understanding of students and learning from a motivation/psychological perspective. Grit passion and perseverance for very long term goals is what made students perform better: years ahead of time, working hard to make that future a reality, living life like a marathon, not a sprint. When kids know about the brain and understand how it works, they can learn better because they understand the learning process more. Take our best ideas/intuitions, test them, measure the success, and be willing to fail and start over. The capacity for new generations to manage stress is lower. Do you think you handle stress well. Eustress vs. distress: eustress beneicial stress. Is perceived as outside of our coping abilities. Can lead to mental and physical problems. Is the glass half full or half empty. Role ambiguity: who is going to actually come through.
