Ostracism: people acting like we are not there. Ignored and excluded need both to be ostracism. Animals like pack and pride animals do this animals that deviate from the norm will be kicked out of the tribe. Prison system: deviated from our laws in society so we cut them out and put them in jail where they are ignored and excluded from the rest of society. Makes us feel powerful as users and strengthen our group norms. More cohesive group agreeing on someone being deviant. Think about being responsible for your own food, shelter, etc. After reflection, individual tries to fortify thwarted needs. Should hurt and i need to find my way back to the group kinda thing. Reaction to ostracism is distress and pain. Realizing something is wrong and you feel bad. Bad feeling will later help motivate the correct action you need to take later.
