Makes us feel powerful as users and strengthen our group norms. More cohesive group agreeing on someone being deviant. Think about being responsible for your own food, shelter, etc. After reflection, individual tries to fortify thwarted needs. Should hurt and i need to find my way back to the group kinda thing. Reaction to ostracism is distress and pain. Realizing something is wrong and you feel bad. Bad feeling will later help motivate the correct action you need to take later.
