I was late to this class which caused me to miss some key information. When i arrived, the class was discussing characteristics that make a leader. Some examples that the class came up with were good communicator, good decision maker, motivator and the list goes on. Next we discussed the different types of leadership and someone can become a strong leader. New learning: in todays class, i learned some new information regarding leadership. I learned that there are different types of leaders and each method of leading has its pros and cons. The types of leaders discussed in class were an autocratic leader, a democratic leader and a laissez- faire leader. An autocratic leader makes all the decisions and prefers to complete tasks quickly and effectively. In contrast, a democratic leader shares the decisions with the group and equally distributes responsibilities among the group.
